Manchester City continues to sell more stones

According to The Athletic, Stones is one of six players Manchester City are considering to cut from manager Josep Guardiola’s plans to reduce the size of the squad, either outright or on loan. 

The 31-year-old is includ in the list along with Ilkay Gundogan, Nico Oriolli, Mateo Kovacic, Claudio Echeverri and Oscar Bobb. 

A move away from Stones would end a nine-year partnership at the Etihad Stadium since his move from Everton in 2016. 

The England international has made 277 appearances in all competitions for the Citizens, scoring 19 goals. 

But the team had to get rid of some old players because they were injure often, both in their feet and hamstrings. So they were only use in 11 Premier League games last season. 

Stones’ successor is Abdugodir Kusanov. Who was brought in from Lens in the winter transfer window. While Brazilian youngster Vitor Rais is also in the mix. 

The 6ft 2in defender’s whereabouts remain unclear. But it is likely to be in England, while Gundogan has  link with Turkish Super League side Galatasaray .
